Organization. Why They Need It As Much As We Do
You are most likely reading this while you are staring at a desk filled with paperwork and clutter.
I recently read an article that suggested a good rule to follow at home or in the classroom for children is “less is more”. “For children, too much visual stimulation makes settling in extremely difficult and choosing activities and materials almost impossible”.
If your child seems to be undesicive and can not calm himself, the simple task of organizing the home, room, or class can make an extreme impact and aid to their benefit. The clutter of materials contributes to choas.
Allowing them to assist you in organizing, labeling and choosing a designated place for materials can also help your child appreciate the value of items and order.
